Okay, now I know I am getting older. I find myself saying those things that only old people say. "Wow, the years seem to be going by faster and faster." And,"It seems like 2010 just started a couple of days ago." Although those feelings may be true, the reality is that 2011 happens in two days whether it feels like it's been a slow year or a quick one.
So, I am making some resolutions this year. They are the typical ones. I'm going to lose some weight and keep exercising. I'm going to work hard to memorize more of my bible and pray more effectively. I am going to invest in my relationships with my wife and boys. But there is a difference...
I am not going to do these alone this year. It's not going to be all about my will power and determination. I am going to do these things with others, in community.
I have a health coach to help me through the challenges and obstacles which derail me from remaining healthy. I have a small group of guys who will encourage me in my spiritual habits as I hold them accountable as well (and I'm going to be memorizing with my sons). My wife and I are both committed to keeping a date night and so the two of us will walk through this together.
I am thankful for these relationships and excited about 2011. Ware you going to be doing?
