Yep, I turned 40

It's been two weeks since my 40th birthday. I haven't blogged about it yet, but that doesn't mean I'm in denial. It's more a statement about the busyness and priorities of life right now.

Let me say this though... my birthday celebration was great!

My wife and the kids made it very special. The highlight was the couple's day at a spa in Portland, which my wife had set up. We had massages and pedicures. I'd never go by myself, but enjoyed relaxing with her and being pampared. Yes, I'd go again (although getting the pedicure did receive odd looks form some of the women in the spa).

Turning 40 was more about memories than anything else. I never pictured myself reaching this point in life and don't know what to expect. I'm thankful for the love of my wife and family. I enjoy our kids and watching them grow up.

Most importantly, I love and appreciate God more and more. I see His wisdom, provision, and protection on a daily basis. I'm learning more about relationship with Him rather than just facts about Him. This is a great comfort in the stage I am now.

So now I'm 40. I'm looking forward to what that brings.
