Time Flies

Is it really Thanksgiving already? Is Christmas just around the corner? Have I not blogged in 2 months?

With the arrival of the Fall, came the routine of the season. I found myself keeping a pretty similar schedule from week to week and doing the same things over and over again. Before I realized it, weeks (really months) had passed. Where did it all go?

Have I really accomplished anything over these weeks? Sure, I've been busy, too busy really. I have started and completed tasks, read some books, gone on dates with my wife, done homework with the boys, and even preached a number of sermons. I can remember bits and pieces, but as a whole, one day really bleeds into the next.

So here's what I am going to do... I'm going to live this next month intentionally. Each morning I will get up and ask God what He has for me that day. I'm going to pray through my schedule and appointments and look for opportunities to interact with people with purpose. Then, I'll set some time aside to reflect back on what God has done that day. With Thanksgiving, I'll anticipate what the next day's adventure will be.

Anyone with me?

Wish I had come to this conclusion out of choice instead of having it imposed upon me, but I am so thankful for a God who is concerned about each breath I take and is willing to direct my steps, holding me up all the way! Living intentionally brings such sweet fellowship with the Father.
