Looking to Other's Interests

As we make our way through the book of Philippians on Sunday mornings, there are many practical applications. Paul has a powerful way of blending theology with practice.

Last Sunday, we read together the beginning of chapter 2. Of course there was the usual discussion of unity, but it was really verses 3 and 4 which spoke to me the most. It is with humility that we view others. This is not a "woe is me attitude" instead it is a reflection of our heart. It's not based upon our skills or abilities, whose better or worse, but the position we allow others to enter into our lives in.

It's so easy to take care of ourselves, to protect our own interests. This week, I've tried to see the opportunities to look to other's interests. I shouldn't be amazed at how many chances God has provided. They are there all the time.

I'm going to continue forward with this same attitude. I encourage you to join me.
