There are certain signs that summer is here in Oregon. The ice cream truck draws our boys and their coins to the sidewalks for tasty treats. Sprinklers and kids in swimsuits play in our homemade water parks to beat the heat. And on our street, the 4th of July rivals any of the big firework shows.
Of course, there are also the bike rides, walks, and baseball games. All of these activities provide us with the opportunity to laugh, play, and get to know one another better. I'm thankful for the summer and the simpler life (once baseball season ends).
